Somizi quickly rose to become the choice celebrity guest amongst Idols viewers when he mentored the Top 6 for the Idols SA Season 10 “Showstoppers” episode back in 2014. In 2015 he officially joined the hit South Africa reality show, as the show entered its eleventh season. He returned in the follow-up season of the show, which currently airs every sunday at 17:30 on Mzansi Magic.
Somizi joined Idols SA as the fourth judge. He views his role on the show as identifying contestants’ “razzmatazz” quotient. He has previously stated, “Contestants are warned! From now on, a good voice alone isn’t enough anymore – I’m going to want contestants who have showmanship!”.

You can now catch him doing what he does best, entertain, on Metro FM, on weekdays – from 8:00-to-12:00. He hosts the show, Who’s show is it anyway alongside Khanyi Mbau and Ntombi Ngcobo.
